THE ONE × Selene — Stoneware Serving Bowl
Some bowls just hold food.
This one holds the curve — organic, cast by hand, glazed and finished by hand in Portugal.
Semi‑matte. Reactive glaze. Unique tonal variations.
Available in three finishes:
Green — Earthy, grounded, quietly alive.
Grey — Soft, serene, endlessly versatile.
Ivory — Warm, luminous, timeless.
88 ounces of intention.
For the table that values the hand of the artisan.
But here's what most people miss: "cast by hand" means liquid clay is poured into a mold — but the mold is used only once. Each bowl is cast in its own individual mold, then removed, then hand-finished before the clay even hardens. That's why every Selene bowl has slightly different curves. No two molds. No two bowls.
You're not buying a serving bowl. You're buying a Portuguese ceramicist's signature — cast in clay, fired in stone, finished by hand.

The Hidden Gems
---
· Cast by hand, not pressed or thrown. Casting uses liquid clay called slip, poured into a plaster mold. The plaster pulls moisture from the slip, forming a clay layer against the mold wall. The rest is poured out. The result is thin, lightweight, and impossibly elegant.
· Semi‑matte is the perfect compromise. Glossy enough to clean easily. Matte enough to feel organic. Most brands pick one. Selene sits in the beautiful middle.
· Reactive glaze isn't a finish — it's a chemistry experiment. Minerals in the glaze react during firing, shifting color and texture in ways no computer can predict. Every bowl is a surprise.
· 88 ounces isn't random. That's roughly 11 cups — a full bag of salad, plus toppings, plus dressing, plus room to toss without losing a single leaf off the edge. One bowl. Everything.
· Three colors aren't random. Green is for vegetables and herbs — the bowl makes greens look greener. Grey is for fish and pale sauces — the contrast is stunning. Ivory is for everything else — the universal donor.
· Oven-safe to 428°F is exact for a reason. 428°F is 220°C — a standard European oven temperature. This bowl was tested in Portuguese kitchens before it ever reached yours.
· Flatware marks aren't damage — they're memory. A gentle powdered cleaner removes them if you want pristine. Or let them build. Each mark tells a story of a meal shared.
